I give you credit for defending Obama and linking to information in support of your arguments. I'd love to have a spirited debate with you on this issue.
First, the fact that Ayers, a self-proclaimed terrorist without any regrets for his wrongdoings, is a professor of education at a university is very disturbing to me.
Even worse is the fact that Obama served on several boards with Ayers. You can't sit on a board with someone without knowing who else is in the room. As a businessman who has been asked to sit on several boards, I can speak from experience here and - admittedly - while I don't know everything about the people whom I serve with, I have a general idea of who the other members are. Generally, people who are asked to serve on a board or are nominated to be elected to serve on a board acquire information about the potential member; and the potential member has the opportunity to find out who the existing members of the board are, who the members of executive management of the organization are, and what the purpose, vision, and direction of the organization are.
New organizations also generally disclose who the founding members are. New organizations also generally know the people who are the founding board members. Obama was a founding board member of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge - a new organization. Chances are, Ayers - one of the founders - asked Obama to sit on this board because they knew each other. According to FOX news "Ayers was clearly more than someone Obama just ran into in the neighborhood on occasion. In the mid-1990s, when Obama was making his first run for the Illinois Senate, Ayers had Obama to his home to introduce him to others." I am not claiming Obama to be a terrorist, nor am I linking Obama to the terrorist actions of the Weathermen to Obama. Of course, Obama can't be responsible for the acts caused by Ayers 40 years ago.
However, the relationship between Obama and Ayers is definitely questionable. Is it a campaign issue? For some it is, and for others it's not. Personally, this association raises questions about Obama's patriotism. He obviously knows Ayers on a professional level, and possibly on a personal level as well. Obama is aware that Ayers is a terrorist, and it doesn't bother him. He also wants to sit down with foreign terrorist leaders and have a coffee table talk with them. Obama's showing himself to be very naive when it comes to foreign policy and the war on terror by dismissing an obvious relationship with Ayers.
I don't think this would have been an issue if Obama simply and honestly could say that he didn't know that Bill Ayers was involved with the Weathermen when they worked together on a professional level.
Obama's patriotism is also questioned by many because of his relationship with his pastor, which is an argument that I don't buy. I believe that the comments made by Rev. Wright were taken out of context, especially the "God damn America" phrase. Many Christians believe that our country was founded on Judea-Christian principles. The same goes for Israel. If we turn our backs on God and His principles, then we are basically rejecting God's gifts of freedom and democracy. God wants us to return to His teachings and His values, and if we don't then God can take away these blessing and, like in the Old Testament, damn our nation as he has done to others that turned away from Him (hence, the God damn America phrase). This is why I don't buy the Jeremiah Wright slander.

If McCain had started his campaign in the living room of an abortion clinic bomber, the liberal media would be all over it. So really what is the difference. We make choices about whom we will associate. I wouldn't be friends with a man like William Ayers, nor would I want to associate with him, even if only on a business level.
If my pastor had used such hate-filled vitriol during his sermons, I would leave that church immediately. How convenient that Obama never heard those hate filled comments. Yes, Obama left the church but it was only because Wright was dragging him down by association.
Then you have Tony Rezko who is recently been charged and in court for his questionable business practices.
His association with Acorn is troubling. This is a group who has protested in bank lobbies and has pushed for legislation to give subprime loans to people who shouldn't have loans. They have also committed voter registartion fraud. Obame gave then $820,000. He also served as their lawyer in the past.
Add all of these associations together and you can see what bad judgement he has.

I concur with your statements. The liberal media doesn't have an equal treatment policy. Also, the fact that Obama has held close relations with questionable people and never divorced himself from these associations does indeed indicate his poor judgment.
